Game changing technologies, aircraft designs, tools are coming.
Aerospace, aircraft & airport industries are going green!
The task ahead is already challenging but time is short.
Shannon Aero offers all stakeholders the tools to manage fleet Global Warming & Climate Emissions costs, as they transition from aircraft using non-renewable fossil fuel, to Net-Zero aircraft, powered by renewable and sustainable fuels.
History of fuel burn gains 2021 -2020
The past decade, from 2010 to 2020, has seen a quickening of fuel burn reductions thanks to the introduction of many new fuel-efficient models, including the Airbus A320neo, Boeing 737 MAX, Airbus A350, and Boeing 787 families. Because the only known new aircraft model on the horizon is 777X, fuel burn reduction may slow down again in the upcoming decade. iv ICCT WHITE PAPER | FUEL BURN OF NEW COMMERCIAL JET AIRCRAFT: 1960 TO 2019Over the long run, our analysis shows that fuel burn per tonne-kilometer and ICAO’s MV were well correlated. While the two metrics diverge from time to time, that is partially because the block fuel intensity metric is better able to reflect the fuel burn of aircraft types with larger payload carrying capabilities.Reductions in aircraft fuel burn were also compared with ICAO’s aircraft CO2 emission standard. All new aircraft will need to meet fuel burn targets for their specific sizes in order to be sold globally starting in 2028. Figure ES-2 shows that the average new aircraft delivered in 2016, the year ICAO’s standard was finalized, already complied with the 2028 re

Type certificated drones will require to meet the same safety systems standards in FAR, Part 8 - Protection Systems as outlined above. Design engineers are finding it challenging to adddress drone safety risk concerns.
Unmanned cargo aircraft (UCA) is one of the "replacement" design concepts being proposed for cargo operators. The concept is based on drone technology, in use for over 80 years. Today, in-service drones can be B737 sized, have large payload range envelopes, and overwater capability. They require additional ground capabilities to operate 24/7. The critical risk for using drones is the safety risk issue.
